Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James

When unworldly student Anastasia Steele first encountered the driven and dazzling young entrepreneur Christian Grey it sparked a sensual affair that changed both of their lives irrevocably. Shocked, intrigued, and, ultimately, repelled by Christian’s singular erotic tastes, Ana demands a deeper commitment. Determined to keep her, Christian agrees.

Now, Ana and Christian have it all—love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of possibilities for their future. But Ana knows that loving her Fifty Shades will not be easy, and that being together will pose challenges that neither of them would anticipate. Ana must somehow learn to share Christian’s opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own identity. And Christian must overcome his compulsion to control as he wrestles with the demons of a tormented past.

Just when it seems that their strength together will eclipse any obstacle, misfortune, malice, and fate conspire to make Ana’s deepest fears turn to reality.

Fifty Shades Freed Summary

These notes were contributed by members of the GradeSaver community. Ana and Christian are enjoying wedded bliss on their honeymoon. Christian goes away for a trip one night, and Ana decides to go out with Kate. However, Jack is there and tries to kidnap Ana but is discovered by Christina's security team. Christian is angry at Ana's stupidity when he returns, and she retorts that he is too possessive and controlling.

After the reception, Christian takes Ana straight to their honeymoon by flying on his private jet to visit Europe, where they naturally consummate. Christian remains protective of Ana when they are at the beach and she is sunbathing topless, concerned that other men will try to make a move on her. Christian takes her back to their room, where more "business" ensues. Back at Grey Enterprises, a man is seen going to the company's data center to plant a bomb. Christian's assistant contacts him and informs him that there was a minor fire but nothing serious. After the couple watches security footage, Ana identifies the suspect as Jack Hyde Eric Johnson , presumably seeking revenge after Ana and Christian got him fired after he tried to assault Ana.

Fifty Shades Freed by E. James is the final installment in the Fifty Shades erotic novel series and picks up right after the engagement between Ana and Christian. For anyone new to the series, here's a quick recap. After their first meeting, they are inseparable. However, the intensity of their relationship along with his lifestyle pushes her away.

Fifty Shades Freed

For reasons that are now obscure to me—and were by definition ill-conceived—I read Fifty Shades of Grey at that terrible moment in American history when it seemed that everyone else was reading it too. Suffice to say that I made either the wise decision to skip them or the only marginally less-wise decision to repress all memory of them. This week, the name of that sacrifice is Fifty Shades Freed. James , Fifty Shades Freed is precisely as atrocious as one might imagine. Which is to say, it is far worse than the first movie —which, though awful, in hindsight looks like Citizen Kane , only with more discussion of dildos. The bad news is that it is even more idiotic, which is in its way a remarkable achievement.

Spoilers ahead. Fifty Shades Freed is a rollercoaster of secrets, betrayal, and soap opera drama, centered around Anastasia Steele and Christian Gray's stormy post-nuptial navigation of their relationship. In the film, their newfound "vanilla" lifestyle extends all the way to ending happily ever after, with 2. But how does this square with the source material? Do Ana and Christian have kids in Fifty Shades Freed the book , or is that just a happy ending tacked on by Hollywood?
