Tales of witches ghosts and goblins
Witches, Ghosts, And Goblins: A Spooky Search For Mirandas Cat by Ruthanna LongSeems to be out of print but I enjoyed the book my wife bought for our daughter, albeit in a used condition.
The book follows the tale of Polly and Oliver who are visited by Miranda the Good Witch who is searching for her cat Cactus. Together, they head to the Land of the Goblins, completing a number of quests for the king. It has some cool illustrations as well.
Although I kept thinking of stranger danger, it was a fun book to read to my daughter, and is not intended to be scary, rather an adventure story.
Hopefully it will receive another print run.

I honestly couldn't tell you how many times I checked this out from the Lawrence, KS public library as a kid for the record, I checked out a great many of the Halloween albums on this blog from that library in the 's, and can place a good deal of my infatuation with this medium of spooky entertainment squarely upon the shoulders of whoever did the buying for the children's "holiday" vinyl section there. Side one of this album in particular was fascinating to me, as it contained recipes and incantations instructing the listener on how both "To Become A Werewolf" and how "To Raise The Dead"; rather highly desirable abilities to my nascent brain. Give this fine album a download and perhaps you'll pick up a tip or two here as well. Link Removed. I purchased this album off of ebay several years ago, and I knew even before I listened to it that it would be great. That proved to be an understatement!
What is the correct procedure for raising the spirits of the dead? Do you know the proper words to recite in order to keep from being frightened by hobgoblins, bitten by devils, or shoved against walls by drunken ghosts? This is the record that tells all about it — an anthology for the listener who enjoys a good scare. It is a program to enjoy by a friendly fire on a rainy afternoon or a windy night — but make sure the doors are double-bolted and the proper protective charms set out within easy reach! Ever since primitive man first learned to put two and two together he has haunted his world with supernatural beings. Even today a great many people believe in the existence of warlocks, witches and werewolves — and not all of them live in the backwoods of Transylvania. No matter how many new inroads are made by the rational finding of science about the nature of reality, a part of every human mind clings jealously to the irrational.
I followed the album above to your site. I am trying to find the name of the album cover artist.
