Courage - A Poem by Jesua

Courage Poems

In Honor of Our Military. Search this site. Somewhere in the night a quiet professional is waiting. He does not care that he is tired. That his hardened body is sleep deprived. He is unbroken and vigilant in his task.

There is also an I Miss You poem, for those whose loved ones are in the military. Remember those we loved, Who fought for us, and died; And those we never knew For whom others mourned and cried. At home our "war" for freedom Is sadly overdue; We've let corruption stage A sad and grievous coup. No longer can we brush off Dishonesty and greed, Lust for wealth and power; We can't, we won't concede. Complacency is weakness Patriots can't afford; We have to act on wrongs That cannot be ignored. We must give up some time, Spent on other pleasures, To restore America's freedom, To keep America's treasures. Money spent on trifles Must now go to our cause: Get rid of the offenders, Constitutional outlaws.

Courage - Poem by Claude McKay

Submit your work, meet writers and drop the ads. Jazmine MacIntyre Sep Paolo's machines. We are proud individuals who feed into bold lies spoonfed like we're blind through hands of our deceitful leaders still they rise. Technology is forever shoved in our face; "hurry up n buy it! In the hands of the media we lay side by side on a sinking ship they say far, far and further away we depart from real life and sink into a screen of shame. Our children can fake a smile but their tears don't lie.

O lonely heart so timid of approach, Like the shy tropic flower that shuts its lips To the faint touch of tender finger tips: What is your word? What question would you broach? Your lustrous-warm eyes are too sadly kind To mask the meaning of your dreamy tale, Your guarded life too exquisitely frail Against the daggers of my warring mind. There is no part of the unyielding earth, Even bare rocks where the eagles build their nest, Will give us undisturbed and friendly rest. No dewfall softens this vast belt of dearth. But in the socket-chiseled teeth of strife, That gleam in serried files in all the lands, We may join hungry, understanding hands, And drink our share of ardent love and life.

What is courage? What defines a courageous act? It is said that the brave and cowardly person are both fearful. However, it is the brave one who faces his fear and does what needs to be done. We will be faced with many things that scare us throughout our lives.
