Alone In A Crowd Quotes (20 quotes)
Life is blowing drop by drop, Death is growing drop by drop, Fields I'm plowing one by one, It is the cruelty of life that we must suffer, and even crueller that we suffer alone, your thoughtful words are deeply poignant as they are melancholic, this bares a hard hitting feel that I understand to well. It speaks to me and for that I love it. Report Reply. A poet is always alone.
It is ironic that the more connected we get to each other via social media, the less we connect face to face, and there's a lot to be said for that face-to-face connection. For one thing, you can't hug someone on Facebook, and there's a lot that simply cannot be said, and that is better conveyed through body language. Even a look can mean everything when a person can't find the words. The less we see of our friends and family, the lonelier we become, even if we're staying up to date with everything they post to social media. Worse still sometimes is when they're having a great time.
She wanders through the crowd It is as though she wasn't even there No one acknowledges her presence She is but a breath of air. Have you ever felt alone in a crowd? Wished you could be part of the scene Felt as if everyone looks passed you Wondered what it would be like to be heard. She opens her mouth but no sound is heard She walks but leaves no footprint in the sand She feels no warmth within her heart She hears no one call her name. Next time you walk the busy street Look for the wisp for it may be her As you admire a beautiful sunset Listen for the rustle of her words. There is nothing more painful As being alone in a crowd Nothing so crushing As having no voice. See her, hear her, feel her love She has so much she wants to give

After a breakup, there is a great feeling of loneliness that overcomes us. For so long, we felt that we were a part of something bigger than ourselves. Suddenly we are left with the realization that we no longer have another to lean on. The loneliness is overwhelming. We have become used to having someone with us all the time. We probably made all our decisions together.
Alone in crowds to wander on, And feel that all the charm is gone Which voices dear and eyes beloved Shed round us once, where'er we roved -- This, this the doom must be Of all who've loved, and loved to see The few bright things they thought would stay For ever near them, die away. Though fairer forms around us throng, Their smiles to others all belong, And want that charm which dwells alone Round those the fond heart calls its own, Where, where the sunny brow? The long-known voice -- where are they now? Thus ask I still, nor ask in vain, The silence answers all too plain. Oh, what is Fancy's magic worth, If all her art cannot call forth One bliss like those we felt of old From lips now mute, and eyes now cold? No, no -- her spell in vain -- As soon could she bring back again Those eyes themselves from out the grave, As wake again one bliss they gave. A mesmerizing and cleverly written.
