Rocky Balboa by Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone is an American actor, director, producer and screenwriter. One of the biggest box office draws in the world from the 70s to the 90s, international megastar Sylvester Stallone is a global icon. He has played two characters who have become a part of the American cultural lexicon: Rocky Balboa, the boxer who overcame all odds to fight for love and glory, and John Rambo, a courageous soldier who specialized in violent rescue and revenge missions.

During the 1980s, he enjoyed phenomenal popularity and was one of the biggest movie stars in the world with the Rocky and Rambo franchises. Stallones culturally influential films changed pop culture history and he has largely enjoyed a career on the Hollywood A list for over 30 years.

He is considered by many (including the mayor of Philadelphia) as the one who made the city of Philadelphia an international tourist attraction with the Rocky Steps. His immense popularity there has led to a statue of his Rocky character being placed permanently near the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a cultural landmark. In August 2007, a statue of Rocky was also erected in the Serbian village of Žitište. Stallones film Rocky has also been inducted into the National Film Registry as well as having its film props placed in the Smithsonian Museum as a national treasure.

Robert "Rocky" Balboa, Sr

For several decades now, there have been few franchises as reliable as the Rocky movies. Sylvester Stallone just kept punching his way to the box office with one, two, three, six movies—and the series was given a new life with the more recent Creed spin-offs, starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, son of Apollo. Just as you can always rely on the sun rising and setting, you can always rely on Stallone popping an old fedora on his head and getting back into character as the Philly boxing star. Creed II is no exception, once again featuring Stallone as an aging Rocky who trains headstrong Adonis.

Robert "Rocky" Balboa, Sr. He is famous for his indomitable spirit, extreme tenacity and ferocious body attack. Rocky is first seen defeating the boxer Spider Rico in the second round, but is considered by the audience to be a bum. When Green drops out because of an injured hand, Creed and his entourage, and trainer Tony "Duke" Evers are stymied on what to do. Other contenders say there is not enough time to get into shape. Creed comes up with the idea of giving a local underdog a shot at the title and, because he likes Rocky's nickname "The Italian Stallion," he selects the relatively unknown fighter. Mickey always considered Rocky's potential to be better than his effort—telling him he had heart but also calling him a "tomato" and "leg breaker for some cheap second-rate loan shark" among other endearments, and putting Rocky out of his gym locker preceding the "freak luck" opportunity that comes Rocky's way, and Rocky is initially skeptical of Mickey's motives and timing for wanting to train Rocky for the big fight.
